We are appraisers in Wake County & the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. Our primary appraisal service is residential in nature, and includes Wake and Durham Counties. We also appraise portions of Chatham, Orange, Johnston, Harnett, Johnston, and Lee Counties (typically $50 travel fee added to standard fees for assignments performed outside of Wake County).
Our valuation services include: Employee Relocation appraisals, PMI appraisal (for private mortgage insurance removal analysis), separation-divorce appraisals, estate and/or probate appraisals, REO/foreclosure appraisals, purchases of land or investment property appraisals,accounting appraisals, and property tax appeal appraisal purposes. We are approved with most major lenders and HUD/FHA-approved. In addition to real estate appraisal, we also provide valuation-related consulting services and appraisal reviews.

Doug Watson is the President of Advantage Appraisals, Inc.. He is a 1986 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management. His appraisal career started in 1990 as an independent tax appraiser, working with the Wake County Assessor's Office. He received exposure to both residential and commercial property valuation principles while in this position. After several years of working for two prominent appraisal firms in the area, Doug started his own company in 1998. Appraisal service is based in Wake County, in the town of Apex, NC.
Doug is committed to the appraisal industry. He has worked to build one of the best appraisal companies in the NC Triangle area. He is a NC State-Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser and he is also HUD/FHA-approved.
